HAMLET — Following the success of the first Food Truck Friday on Main in September, the event returns this week.

This time, there will be three vendors in the parking lot of the Hamlet Depot and Museums offering up lunch and dinner from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9.

This week’s tucks will be Britton’s BBQ and Grill with barbecue, burgers and other foods, Taqueria Las Palmas serving a variety of Mexican food including tacos and burritos, and the Funnel Cake Guy selling, well, funnel cakes.

The Hamlet Depot and Museums Gift Shop will also be out selling items, including “Don’t be a Covid Conductor” train facial masks, as well as Friends of the Depot memberships and commemorative bricks.

The inaugural event, on Sept. 18, featured Seafoodie and Mama Blair’s.

Mechelle Preslar, Hamlet Depot and Museum director said the first Food Truck Friday was “a bigger success than anticipated.”

“Mama Blair’s sold out of food twice and last time being before 7, and Seafoodie brought a week’s worth and had very little left by 7 and ran out of items,” Preslar said.

Those who come out are asked to follow safety guidelines, including social distancing.
