ROCKINGHAM — A Hamlet man is facing a dozen criminal charges for allegedly having child pornography.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Dalton James Autry, of Circle Wood Drive was arrested Thursday after surrendering himself to the magistrate’s office.
The pornographic materials Autry is accused of possessing involves underage juveniles, but investigators say none were identified as being local.
Autry is charged with 12 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor.
The arrest resulted from an ongoing investigation by the sheriff’s office’s CID unit and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, according to a press release issued Thursday afternoon.
Online state records show Autry has no other pending charges or prior convictions in this state.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
