Hamlet Police Clear Prominent Cases for Attempted First-Degree Murder, Drug Dealing

HAMLET – The Hamlet Police Department announced two arrests that should be of particular interest to the community. 

The first of these occurred on August 28 when a suspect was apprehended in conjunction with a charge of attempted murder in the first degree.

Thomas Terry, III of Ware Street in Hamlet was arrested in connection with a June 2, 2018, shooting that occurred on Washington Avenue in Hamlet. 

Local law enforcement personnel had been searching for him since that time. 

Terry, 33, was processed into the Richmond County Detention Center under a secured bond of $250,000.  

Terry’s car was impounded for further searching for evidence. 

Terry’s initial court appearance was scheduled for September 13.  

The HPD also made an arrest of a suspected cocaine dealer.  

Damion Rashun Mosley, 21, of McGirt Road, Hamlet, was arrested on September 1.  

Mosley was charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; felony possession of cocaine; maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of the manufacture, sale, and/or delivery of a controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and operating a motor vehicle without a license.  

It was noted in the police report that Mosley has been arrested by the Hamlet Police Department three times this year for possession of cocaine.  

Mosley was processed into the Richmond County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.  

Mosley’s initial court appearance was scheduled for September 13.  

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
