Hamlet Police Department Asking for Community’s Assistance Following Recent Vehicle Break-Ins

HAMLET – After almost two weeks of diligent investigative work, the Hamlet Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in regard to a series of vehicle break-ins in a particular area of town during the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 7.

Captain Randy Dover is asking for any information that may lead to the identification of those persons responsible.

A total of five cars (all of which were unlocked) were unduly accessed and miscellaneous items were stolen from within.

“We cannot stress how important it is to simply lock your cars,” Dover notes.  “No, it may not stop someone from breaking in, but it would have possibly prevented these particular incidents.”

The five vehicles were unlawfully accessed between the early morning hours of midnight and 6 a.m. in the Lillian Lane area of Briarwood.

The Hamlet Police Department requests that anyone with any information related to these vehicle break-ins contact them at 910-582-2551 or call Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454.
