Hamlet Police Department Conducts Drug Bust

HAMLET – Subsequent to receiving a call at 11:05 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, in reference to a possible drug operation, Hamlet Police Department immediately went into action.

Arriving at 105 Rosemont Avenue in Hamlet, officers found Nijamel Goodwin in possession of a controlled substance.

Executing a search warrant, HPD officers discovered a sufficient amount of illicit drugs and paraphernalia to arrest Goodwin.

Goodwin was charged with six counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance (marijuana).

Goodwin was also charged with maintaining a dwelling and a vehicle for the purpose of selling and delivering a controlled substance.

Goodwin was transported to the Richmond County Magistrate’s Office and processed into the Richmond County Jail under a $7500 secured bond.

All persons are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
