Hamlet Police Department Has Busy Weekend with Multiple Incidents and Arrests

HAMLET – As reported by Captain Randy Dover, Hamlet police officers were busy over the weekend, arresting four persons in separate incidents and conducting an ongoing investigation of a fifth situation.

Two driving while impaired cases were processed, one on Saturday evening, and the second on early Monday morning.

Rosemary Surita, 41, of Seaboard Street in Hamlet, was stopped on Spring Street at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, and charged with driving while impaired.

Stuart Reynolds, 32, was stopped on Bauersfield Avenue at 12:38 a.m. Monday, December 4, and subsequently charged with driving while impaired, assault on a government employee, and attempting to elude arrest.

In other news, an ongoing investigation of a financial card fraud case from November 27 resulted in the arrest of Arthur Galloway on Friday, December 1.  Galloway, a Spring Street resident, was cited with a criminal summons for a misdemeanor fraud charge pursuant to an investigation by Lt. Jordan of the HPD.

Also, Darren Little, 24, was arrested on the afternoon of Saturday, December 2, and charged with larceny and second degree trespassing at the Family Dollar Store on Hamlet Avenue.  Little, a Spring Street resident, had been banned from the store previously.  

Investigation of a sexual assault allegation is ongoing after a call was received from a female resident on Faires Street at 1:58 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. HPD is continuing to look into the allegations.

 

All persons mentioned are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
