Donald Ray Morton, formerly a patrol corporal, is also now a lieutenant and leads the patrol division. He has 13 years of law enforcement experience, including stints with the Rockingham and Wadesboro police departments.

Officers Greg Stone and Jatique Barnes, both former corporals, were recently promoted to sergeant.

Several officers, including Stone and Morton, were promoted in May as part of a restructuring by Chief Tommy McMasters.
