HAMLET — Police are asking the public’s help in identifying a person of interest they believe was involved in a New Year’s Eve larceny at a grocery store.
The Hamlet Police Department on Wednesday post photos of security footage of a white man with glasses wearing a blue and black jacket and a ball cap, as well as a photo of the car, a Buick sedan, they believe he was driving.
According to Detective Capt. Randy Dover, the suspect was caught on video Dec. 31 taking three packs of crab legs, valued at $27 each, before running for the door to his car.
Anyone who can identify the suspect is encouraged to call Dover at 910-582-2551.
Police are also still searching for Jewarren Rush who is wanted on outstanding warrants for attempted first-degree burglary and injury to real property in connection to an incident last month.
