Hamlet Police seek man who allegedly stole from mother

HAMLET — Police are asking for the public’s help finding a man accused of stealing money — from his own mother.

Reid Thomas Milligan, 26, has an outstanding warrant for felony larceny after stealing $1,300 from his mother, according to Detective Capt. Randy Dover with the Hamlet Police Department.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction also lists Milligan as a probation absconder.

Records show he was released Jan. 6 from three-month stint for a reimprison violation after serving 16 months behind bars following felony convictions on two counts of possessing stolen goods and one count each of selling a Schedule II controlled substance and possession with intent to sell a Schedule II controlled substance.

His parole was scheduled to end July 3.

The Hamlet Police Department posted Milligan’s photo on its Facebook page late Monday afternoon.

According to state court records, Milligan has no other pending charges.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Dover at 910-582-2551 or Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 920-997-5454.

Milligan has previously been convicted on multiple felony counts of breaking and entering and a felony count of forgery, records show.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
