Hamlet Police seek missing girl

UPDATE: The Hamlet Police Department announced on social media that the girl had been found and returned home.

HAMLET — Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing pre-teen.

The Hamlet Police Department on Friday posted photos of 12-year-old Aleigha Cassidy.

Cassidy reportedly went missing on Minturn Avenue and was wearing a black hoodie, black shorts and light-colored Crocs.

She is 5 feet tall and weighs 85 pounds, has fair skin, hazel eyes and brownish-blonde hair, according to the post.

The HPD also posted a short video appearing to show Cassidy leaving a residence in the comments of the post.
