HAMLET— Investigators have spent most of Thursday trying to discover the identity of a suspected car and purse thief.

A male suspect stole a Scion xB from the Speedway gas station just before 7 a.m., according to Detective Capt. Randy Dover.

The suspect then drove to the Circle B convenience store where he was caught on camera parking near the gas pump and exiting the vehicle carrying the victim’s purse and other items.

He then walks over to a waiting light-colored Chevy Tahoe with a piece of equipment on top.

Investigators say a female suspect was inside the SUV and moved to the back before the male suspect got inside and drove away.
