ROCKINGHAM — Four people, ranging in age from 15 to 77, have gone missing from Richmond County over the past several months.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating three of the cases, posted updates on its Facebook page Tuesday to assure the public that the investigations are ongoing.
“These investigations are a priority, and we are committed to following every lead to resolve each situation,” Sheriff Mark Gulledge said in a statement.

Linda Ann McCuiston, 77, was last seen at her home on Country Canyon Drive near Cordova on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024. The sheriff’s office announced that evening that deputies and investigators had launched a search to find her.
The wooded areas around her home were searched by deputies and search and rescue teams, as well as with a drone, on Sunday, Oct. 13, according to the sheriff’s office.
The alert with the N.C. Center for Missing Persons automatically cancels after 90 days, however McCuiston has yet to be found.
McCuiston stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds, according to a post from the N.C. Center for Missing Persons. However, a missing poster describes her as being 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing 115 pounds.
She has shoulder-length black and gray hair and brown eyes and was reportedly last seen wearing a black shirt and dark pants, as well as a black toboggan on her head.

Christian McDonald, 29, of Rockingham, was reportedly last seen on Nov. 6, 2024.
There is no other information related to McDonald’s case listed in the announcement posted on Tuesday, and it appears no previous posts have been made about his disappearance.
NOTE: Hours after posting McDonald’s photo, the sheriff’s office announced he had been found.

Dennis Wayne Bailey, 67, was last seen on Dec. 28, however he wasn’t reported missing until Jan. 2, according to the sheriff’s office.
Bailey is described as being tall and slender and investigators say he may be wearing a black and red puffy jacket.
First responders from Richmond and Scotland counties helped in a search for Bailey after he was reported missing.
Investigators say Bailey does not have a vehicle and is known for walking around the Mizpah Road area southeast of Rockingham.
A $1,500 reward is being offered for information leading to Bailey’s location.
Last week, the Rockingham Police Department reported that 15-year-old Adrianna Sunshine Matthews was last seen around 2 a.m. Jan. 8.
On Jan. 14, investigators said Matthews may be wearing a pair of black Ugg shoes and carrying a blanket featuring a collage of photos of her cat, but don’t know what else she may have been wearing.
Matthews is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds. She also has a nose ring and a scar above her left eye. Matthews also currently has black hair, but has been known to dye it, according to police.
Matthews went missing for several days in August of 2023 after reportedly being picked up by someone in Hamlet, but she was found and returned home.
“Investigators have dedicated countless hours and resources to locating these individuals, but so far, they have not been successful,” reads each post from the RCSO. “The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is committed to keeping these cases open until they are resolved. As a testament to our dedication, Captain Mitchell Watson of the Criminal Investigations Division has explored various tools that may assist deputies in locating missing persons, including discussions with a Canadian company.”
