Jay Noble: Raiders Marching Band Member of the Week

Jay Noble is the Raiders Marching Band Member of the Week.

ROCKINGHAM – In this week’s edition of the Richmond Raider Marching Band Member of the Week, band director Mike Ward has chosen Jay Noble.

“Jay sets the standard for self-motivation, determination, and persistence,” Ward noted.  “He is a pleasure to teach.”

Here’s a little more about Noble:

Class: Junior (graduates in 2019)

Age: 16

Instrument Played: Snare drum.

Years in Marching Band: three years

Other instruments played: “I also play the drum set,” Noble expressed.

Extracurricular Activities at RSHS: “I am in National Beta Club and Skills USA,” Noble said.

Favorite Classes at RSHS: “I enjoy my graphic communications class,” Noble stated. “And that’s what I want my major to be in college.”

Hobbies: “I like to deejay or controlling music at parties,” Noble said. “I also enjoy listening to, writing and making music, too. Anything that has to do with music is me.”


College Aspirations: “My No. 1 college right now is North Carolina A&T,” Noble explained. “As I said before, I’d like to study graphic communications.”

Career Goals: “I plan on working for a big company designing things or having my own company,” Noble said. “I would like to design shirts and other articles of clothing.”

Quote on Director Ward: “Mr. Ward is a great teacher,” Noble concluded. “He always tells us practice is key.”
