Law enforcement searching for missing Jackson Springs woman

ROCKINGHAM — Law enforcement agencies across south-central North Carolina are asking residents to be on the lookout for a Jackson Springs woman who hasn’t been seen in more than 10 days.

According to a poster from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, which was shared on social media by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Allisha Dene Watts was last seen on July 16.

The poster states Watts was driving a 2023 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 and may have been heading toward Moore County.

However, the poster also states her car was found two days later in Anson County.

WRAL-TV reports that the car was found in the DMV parking lot on U.S. 74 in Polkton, with her boyfriend — James Dunmore — unresponsive inside. He was reportedly taken to a hospital.

The station also reports that police searched Dunmore’s Charlotte home.

The poster and multiple media outlets state that family and friends are concerned for Watts’ safety. A candlelight vigil was reportedly held Tuesday in Southern Pines.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Anson County Sheriff’s Office or Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
