HAMLET – As the Richmond County Agricultural Fair got underway Tuesday night, one of the first major events was a Lego competition.
The Lego build-off, which was sponsored by The Hive in Rockingham, provided local students and teenagers the opportunity to construct unique, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. The goal was to wow a panel of judges with their individual creations.
“The competition is about being creative,” said Sarah Ferguson, owner of The Hive. “And whoever is the most creative, there are prizes waiting for them.”
There were three judges for the event, which were Ferguson, Greg Shelley (better known as the “Collard Man” and Brenda Bullard. Taking the top three spots in the competition were Austin Hadinger, Hayden Hadinger and Reece Gentry.
The Richmond County Agricultural Fair runs through Saturday with admission set at $5 a person.
