HAMLET – On Saturday, September 23, Rebecca Rainwater and her mother, Lorie, put together a free event for the public for direct sell and small businesses in Richmond County called the “Faithfully Shopping Spree.” The event was held at the Cole Auditorium from 2 to 6 p.m.
The Faithfully Shopping Spree had several local vendors available for those who were in attendance. The largest vendor was a combination of many LulaRoe representatives, including Amy Brown, Lorie and Rebecca Rainwater, and Amber Reynolds.
Other vendors in attendance were Pampered Chef with Mary Martha, Scentsy with Ashton Webb, Paparazzi with Katie Aaron, The Rustic Avery Boutique with Alyssa Marston, Indie Studios with Dawn McElroy, Shelia’s Kountry Krafts with Shelia Webb, Beauty Counter with Meghann Ayre, Lipsense with Courtney Burris, and Elk River with Rebecca Rainwater.
The shopping was not the only attraction at this event. Vendors also offered giveaways, music provided by DJ James Brooks, and free photo booth use provided by Ward Productions, which was a huge hit with the kids who came with their families.
“Running a small business is hard, but important,” Rebecca Rainwater noted when asked why this event was so important. “Rather than helping another CEO for some large company buy another luxury house, the people supporting our event are helping pay for a child’s soccer or piano lessons. They are helping create opportunities.
“We should all be close as a community and support each other,” Rainwater added.
The Rainwaters are hoping for this shopping spree to turn into an annual event that helps the local families and businesses flourish in the community.
