In continuing its new column, the Richmond Observer and contributor Cleve Baxley will showcase a local business in Richmond County each week. The question-and-answer format is to highlight what local businesses are doing in the community, and the RO being a large supporter of small businesses, encourages you to nominate a local business to be featured in this new weekly column.
Below is the conversation between Baxley and Scott Brewer, the owner of Family Pharmacy:
When was Family Pharmacy established?
We were established 10 years ago.
How did the business get started?
My wife, Tanya, and I just started from scratch. We thought this would be a good location and a needed spot in town. We have really enjoyed it ever since.
What is your location in Rockingham?
We are located at 2124 Fayetteville Road in the Food Lion shopping center.
What is the contact number here?
We can be reached at (910) 895-7775 for all of your family’s pharmacy needs.
How many employees do you have?
We currently have 12 employees working at Family pharmacy.
What products do you sell at Family Pharmacy?
Of course, we do prescriptions. Sometimes we get some of the harder to find over-the-counter-products such as old time remedies. Generally, if someone is looking for something that they can’t find, we can order it for them and certainly keep it in stock.
What is something your business is known for?
I think it’s our personal relationship with our customers, and the quick turnaround time on filling prescriptions.
Is there something about your business that people might not know that you would like for them to know?
One thing is that we do have a free app that customers can download on their phone. It’s cool because you can actually do refills with it. It makes it really easy.
Do you have a website?
We do, and that is where you can find the app to download. It is located at www.myfamilypharmacy.com
