HAMLET – On Saturday, September 8, 2018, the Cole Auditorium in Hamlet, NC will come alive with excitement as couples put on their dancing shoes to compete in the annual fundraiser benefit “Dancing With the Stars” hosted by Richmond County Hospice and sponsored by Mabry’s Drug and Home Care in Hamlet.
This year’s event will open at 5:30 p.m. in the Banquet Room of the Cole Auditorium, kicking-off with the “Taste of the Sandhills” lineup: over 20 restaurants will be represented with each offering a taste of their specialty. A cash bar will also be open to offer beer and wine, and a DJ will be providing music for all who attend. An open floor will also be available for all who would like to do a little dancing of their own before the big event.
In speaking with hospice’s Director of Public Relations Julie Woody, she stated “We are excited about the event and very appreciative for all the support from the community for this fundraiser.”
The competition will begin in the main auditorium at 7:30 p.m. There are currently seven couples registered: JC and Karen Everett; Hunter Smart and Kaiyah Sriratanakoul; Clint Downer and Taylor Lingren; Chris Herrin and Robin Roberts; Justin Clark and Erin Newcomb; Jason and Jessi Graham; and Ricky Vaughn and Ciarra Kelly. Returning champions Dennis Quick and Mary Catherine Moree, along with Robert Smith and Tarrah Billingsley, will be performing the opening dance.
All proceeds will go towards Richmond County Hospice which has been reaching out since 1985 to comfort and help families with quality care during end-of-life experiences. They are the only non-profit hospice located in Richmond County and their services reach out to Richmond, Anson, Scotland, Moore, and Montgomery counties. Services provided include home visits by a hospice physician and/or nurse as well as the care available through the Hospice Haven General Inpatient Center . The focus of hospice is to offer the best care possible while at the same time showing support to the families.
Services are also provided to the residents of Anson County through Anson Community Hospice, a division of Richmond County Hospice.
