HAMLET — A man is facing two felony charges for allegedly trying to spice things up.

According to an arrest warrant, 26-year-old Michael Brandon Correira, of Peachview Drive, southeast of Hamlet, broke into a neighboring home Sunday.

Correria is also accused of stealing a package of taco seasoning, valued at $1.

As a condition of his release, Correira was ordered not to be on or about the property he’s accused of stealing from.

He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 2, 2020.

Online court records show Correira has pending traffic citations from the N.C. State Highway Patrol of reckless driving to endanger and driving with a revoked license. His court date for those charges is Feb. 5.

Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Correira has no previous convictions in the state.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
