LAURINBURG — The fifth of six suspects wanted for multiple crimes spanning at least five counties in two states has been apprehended.

Timonte Purvis was arrested Monday by agents with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, deputies with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Pembroke Police Department, according to a Facebook post from the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Unit.

Investigators say Purvis, 21, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, was taken to Fayetteville and served with multiple warrants.

Prior to his arrest, Purvis was out on bond from pending charges from the Bennettsville Police Department and has warrants from the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office for second-degree burglary and failure to stop for blue lights.

The Hamlet Police Department has charged Purvis with larceny of a motor vehicle for allegedly stealing a Honda Ridgeline from Terry Street on Feb. 10. Investigators say the vehicle was recovered by the Laurinburg Police Department following a chase — with someone else driving it.

Police are still investigating and more charges are likely, according to Detective Capt. Randy Dover.

The six are accused and suspected of a “high number” of  car, home and convenience store break-ins and burglaries in Cumberland, Scotland, Richmond and Moore counties.

Cumberland County Jail records show Purvis is being held on 114 pending charges.

Online court records show Purvis has been arraigned in Cumberland County on: 14 counts of felony conspiracy; more than 20 counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle; three counts each of larceny of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon; 10 counts of financial card theft; two counts each of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering; more than 15 combined counts of misdemeanor and felony larceny; more than 20 combined counts of misdemeanor and felony possession of stolen goods or property; and one misdemeanor count of attempted breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

Investigators arrest three of the suspects — Bobby Pearson, Devon “Devine” Revels and Majuani Jackson — in Laurinburg on Feb. 20. The youngest of the group, 17-year-old Jakob Slade, was arrested the following day. They all face similar charges.

Investigators are still searching for 18-year-old Jalen Quick of Gibson.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
