ROCKINGHAM – As part of the ongoing mission of the Richmond Observer to provide expansive coverage of current events, we offer the following news release from Congressional candidate Mark Harris in relation to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence and suggested ways to assist the victims:

Friends,

Many of our friends and neighbors in the 9thDistrict Counties of Bladen, Robeson and Cumberland Counties are hurting as a result of Hurricane Florence and need our help! They are facing devastating flooding (which will only get worse with forecasters predicting major flooding from the Cape Fear and Lumber Rivers later this week), extended power outages, and significant damage to their homes and businesses.

Please join me in praying for everyone suffering as a result of Hurricane Florence, and let’s put our faith and our values into action and do what we can to help those who are suffering. Many of you have given abundantly of your time, your talent, and your financial resources to aid our campaign. Now I’m asking you to do the same to help our friends.

We are collecting the following items and will be delivering them to Hurricane Florence Victims in Bladen, Robeson and Cumberland Counties:

Nonperishable Food Items (especially items that could be used to make sandwiches)
Bottled Water
Personal Hygiene Items
Cleaning Supplies (especially those with bleach)
New or used clean clothing (all sizes)

We will be collecting items at the Mark Harris for Congress Campaign Headquarters, 14700 Independence Blvd. Indian Trail, NC 28079  and the Mecklenburg GOP Headquarters, 801 East Morehead Street, Suite 121 Charlotte, NC 28202.  Both offices will be open Monday from 8:00AM to 6:00PM for items to be dropped off.  I will be making multiple trips with my campaign team and campaign volunteers to Bladen, Columbus and Robeson Counties to deliver supplies starting tomorrow afternoon.
