Mark Your Calendars for “National Night Out” in Rockingham

City of Rockingham

ROCKINGHAM—The City of Rockingham and the Rockingham Police Department will be teaming up to host the annual “National Night Out” event.

Millions from around the country take part in “National Night Out”, the annual community-building campaign that is geared towards building police and community partnerships in an effort to provide a safer community. In years past, this event has also proven to be a great opportunity to bring the local police department and neighbors together.

The event will be held on Tuesday, August 1 from 6:00 until 8:30 pm in the parking lots of City Hall and the Thomas Leath Memorial Library on Rockingham Road. There will be multiple activities at this event, including finger printing for children, a DWI driving course, The Crash Test Dummies, and dunking booth with various Rockingham police officers. The Rockingham Police Department will also have their Traffic Team on sight to distribute information in conjunction with the North Carolina Govenor’s Highway Safety program. Crime Stoppers representatives will be in attendance as well.
