N.C. Works offering job search assistance in Dobbins Heights

DOBBINS HEIGHTS — NCWorks is looking for people looking for jobs.

The state employment agency will be at the Dobbins Heights Community Center from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Those seeking help in searching for jobs, resume preparation or job referrals are encouraged to ask for Takeesha Patterson, career employment services consultant.

More than 2,000 jobs in Richmond and neighboring counties have been posted to the N.C. Works website within the past month.

Among those, there are: 250 in sales; 275 in management; 177 in health care; more than 60 in construction and maintenance; and 71 in food service. There are also other categories.

According to a county profile released by the N.C. Department of Commerce in May 2022, there were 1,533 unemployed residents in Richmond County, at a rate of 9.2%, for 2021.

Private industry accounts for more than 75% of the total workforce.

The Dobbins Heights Community Center is at 222 Earle Franklin Drive.
