N.C. Zoo temporarily closing

ASHEBORO — In accordance with Gov. Roy Cooper’s Executive Order 117, and to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in North Carolina, the North Carolina Zoo will suspend public operations starting Tuesday, March 17, for the safety and wellness of our guests and staff.

The Zoo’s dedicated staff will continue to provide the animals with professional care every day. The Zoo is taking steps to ensure food and medical supplies will be available for all the animals. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will not admit any injured native wildlife during this time. All employees will be paid during this temporary closing.
