CHERAW, S.C. — Although her name hasn’t been officially released, the RO has learned the name of the child who was one of three people shot and killed early Tuesday afternoon.
An obituary for 3-year-old Sadie Grace Linton was posted to the website for Miller Rivers Caulder Funeral Home on Wednesday.
According to the obituary, she is the daughter of Hailey Jordi Brown and and Brandon Linton.
Brown, 29, was also killed in the shooting incident, along with 27-year-old Cordarius Foster.
The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office released the names of Brown and Foster earlier Wednesday, citing state law for withholding the child’s name.
The three were found dead at a home on Society Hill Road, near the Darlington County line, around midday Tuesday.
Investigators said in a Wednesday press release that there is no threat to the community “as it relates to this tragic situation.”
“At this point in the investigation, the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office is limited in what can be said,” the release stated. “Our agency is unable to discuss the specific details at this time. There is still a lot of work to be done with this investigation. When the time is appropriate, more information will be released.
“Sheriff Dixon asks that the public recognize that this is a very tragic situation. Please be mindful that this is a very difficult time for the family.”
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is “still very active.”
Many people have left their condolences on the “Tribute Wall” section of the obituaries for both mother and daughter.
Funeral arrangements will be announced Thursday.
