ROCKINGHAM — A man and woman are facing several drug charges, including meth trafficking.

Richmond County Jail records show 33-year-old Siharath Chanthachone and 34-year-old Shyanna Rose Hartless were booked Sunday afternoon each on a charge of trafficking in methamphetamine.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office could not be reached Monday for details and court documents were not yet publicly available in the clerk of court’s office.

According to N.C. General Statutes, anyone caught possessing, delivering, transporting or manufacturing 28 grams or more of methamphetamine is considered to be trafficking.

They are also each charged with one count each of maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and carrying a concealed gun.

Hartless faces an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

They are each being held under a $100,000 secured bond and are scheduled to appear in court May 2.

The Southern Pines Pilot reported in 2016 that Hartless, of Aberdeen, had been charged by the Southern Pines Police Department with larceny (there is no clarification as to if it was a felony or misdemeanor charge), but records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show she has never been convicted in the state.

Online court records show she has no pending charges.

Chanthachone has no pending charges or previous convictions in the state, according to online records.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
