ROCKINGHAM – Nonprofit organizations depend on donations in order to operate. Fundraising plays a significant role in generating needed funds to sustain ongoing operations. An upcoming opportunity to assist one such organization will occur this week.
Captain D’s Seafood in Rockingham will host a fundraiser for Pee Dee Pregnancy Resource Center (PDPRC) this Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. 10% of all dine-in sales during this three-hour period will go to the Resource Center. Be sure to mention PDPRC if you go through the drive-through. In addition, there will be a prize wheel that diners can spin for $1.
Captain D’s is known for partnering with local community groups to help support their fundraising efforts.
Another recent fundraising effort includes the annual Pee Dee Pregnancy Resource Center Fundraising Banquet that was held this past November.
Jatana McCormick, director of PDPRC stated, “Operating funds for the center come directly from community support.”
PDPRC outgrew their previous location due to client numbers as well as space needed for additional activities. They are currently transitioning to their new facility located at 202 S. Lawrence Street.
Pee Dee Pregnancy Resource Center is a Christ-centered, 501(c)(3) ministry offering hope and comfort to those facing an unexpected pregnancy. It is supported through private donations of area churches, organizations, and individuals in our community, and outreach is provided by volunteers.
There are many opportunities for those wishing to donate time or money to PDPRC. Monetary donations can be made to the Baby Bottle Campaign through a local participating church or other organization, or by contributing a donation via PayPal or a check in the mail. Other opportunities to serve include a willingness to wash, dry, and return donated clothes, mentor clients or help in the office. Intercessory prayer for the ministry is also appreciated.
