Representative Goodman Named to Additional Committee Assignments

RALEIGH, N.C. – State Representative Ken Goodman (D-Richmond, Montgomery and Stanly) was named to the following legislative panels Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Capital Improvements; the Joint Legislative Administrative Procedure Oversight Committee and the House Select Committee on Judicial Redistricting; Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations;  the House Select Committee on Strategic Transportation Planning and Long Term Funding Solutions and the Joint Legislative Economic Development and Global Engagement Oversight Committee.

“All of these committees will play a major public policy role in our state over the course of the next 12 months.  I am honored to have been selected and looking forward to representing Richmond, Montgomery and Stanly Counties on these committees,” said Rep. Goodman.

“Our state is facing major needs when it comes to capital outlays for our university system, our community colleges and state-owned properties.  This committee will look at the needs and look at setting priorities for state funding.

“The Legislative Administrative Procedure Oversight Committee will be working to look at improving the efficiency of state government bureaucracy and finding ways to cut red tape, improve operations and upgrade service to our citizens.

“The Judicial Redistricting Committee will work on setting standards and streamlining our state’s district court, superior court and prosecutorial districts.  It is imperative that the General Assembly address this important task with impartiality and a respect for the state’s judiciary,” said Rep. Goodman.

“I intend to use my business experience to provide input and guidance on the economic development committee and working on funding solutions to meet our state’s transportation needs,” said Rep. Goodman.
