Reward offered in Richmond County electrical equipment theft

ROCKINGHAM — A local contractor is offering award pending the conviction of whoever is responsible for damage and theft at a construction site.

Jerry Goodwin of JELGO Electrical Contractors LLC announced Tuesday that electrical materials were damaged and stolen from the site of the future Sandhills Center on the corner of U.S. 1 and Old Aberdeen Road.

He said the crime happened sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Goodwin tells the RO that wiring that was already installed in the building was cut out and taken away.

The company is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects.
