Richmond County Chamber of Commerce Launches “12 Days of Chamber” Initiative Ahead of Holiday Shopping Season

RICHMOND COUNTY – On the 12th Day of Chamber the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce gave to me: 12 member businesses, 11 gift certificates, 10 prize packages, nine amazing discounts, eight funny videos, seven witty captions, six new gift ideas, five local celebrities, four door busters, three board members, two elected officials and one event that locals don’t want to miss out on.

This holiday season, while people are baking cookies, decking the halls, and purchasing gifts, the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce will be busy launching a new campaign to get people to shop locally this gifting season.

The brand-new campaign appropriately titled “12 Days of Chamber,” will take place each business day from Monday, November 27 through Tuesday, December 12.

For each of the 12 business days during the campaign, Chamber representatives will tour a different member business, sharing information about the unique products, services, and specials the business has to offer.  To add another layer of excitement and anticipation to each tour, the Chamber staff has worked diligently to secure a lineup of secret guests who will co-host each day’s festivities.

Together, they will host a different giveaway each day.  All of the action, information, and shenanigans will be captured on camera and posted to the Chamber’s social media platforms.

Provided its structure, the success of the 12 Days of Chamber campaign relies almost entirely upon the influence and presence of the Chamber’s social media accounts.

“We wanted to do something new for our Christmas shop local campaign,” explained Chamber membership director, Seth Allen.  “The reach on a giveaway video is always great, and we thought it would be a fun way to incorporate businesses and public figures.”

Every day of the campaign will host a different giveaway, with prizes ranging from gift certificates to gift baskets.  In the spirit of the 21st century, these giveaways will take the form of a “like and share” contest on Facebook wherein entrants must “like” and “share” the official video of the day.  The Chamber will then select the lucky winner from the eager participants.

Win or lose though, this modern and upbeat approach to boosting local commerce will certainly be something to see, and a festive way to countdown the days of the Christmas season.
