Richmond County Health Department hosting 4 vaccination clinics

ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Health Department is providing pet owners with four opportunities next month to get their furry family members vaccinated.

North Carolina state law requires that all cats and dogs be vaccinated against rabies each year. Those found without current vaccination tags on their collars are subject to impoundment by Richmond County Animal Control.

The vaccination fee is $8 per pet.

Licensed veterinarians will be at four locations across the county to administer the rabies vaccines:

Thursday, May 2

Ellerbe Lions Club Park – 4-4:30 p.m.

Cordova Fire and Rescue (Old Cheraw Highway) – 5-5:30 p.m.

Friday May 3

Hamlet Fire Department – 4:30-5 p.m.

Richmond County Health Department – 5:15-6 p.m.

All dogs should be on leashes and cats in carrying cages.

For more information, contact the Health Department at 910-997-8300.
