Richmond County Health Department updates vaccine availability

ROCKINGHAM — Beginning Monday, May 10, 2021, the Richmond County Health Department will enhance COVID vaccine availability for our community.  The following updates are being made:

  • The vaccine will be available to anyone age 18 and over Monday-Thursday 8-5, Friday 8-11 and Saturday 10-2 at the Richmond County Health Department, located at 127 Caroline Street in Rockingham. No appointment is required and the vaccine is free. Both Moderna & Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be available. Special note – vaccines will not be available on Saturday, May 29 and Monday, May 31, 2021.
  • Individuals previously scheduled at First Health Clinic Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond will still go to the hospital to receive their vaccine.
  • The Health Department is also providing a weekly community clinic at a location in Richmond County. The next Community Clinic will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Ellerbe Fire Department from 2-5pm. Both the Moderna & Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available at this clinic. The department will post all future community vaccine clinics on the health department website.
  • Parents who wish to have their children vaccinated (currently limited to age 16 and 17) can call 910-417-4909 to arrange an appointment.

COVID-related questions, including vaccine, can be addressed by calling the COVID Hotline at 910-417-4947.
