ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County Hospice is gearing up for its inaugural Mistletoe Gallery fundraiser this weekend.

Attendees will be able to circle around the organization’s offices to place their bids in a silent auction on Christmas trees and other holiday decor, according to Julie Woody, director of public relations.

Items up for auction include 13 Christmas trees, 22 wreaths, six lanterns and two garlands, in addition to wooden signs, door hangers and a variety of gift baskets donated from local businesses.

Woody said there will be a gift shop set up where attendees can purchase Christmas ornaments and donated baked goods will also be available for sale.

The fee to enter is $5 and the event runs from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13; and 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14.

Bidding ends at 6 p.m. Sunday and the highest bidders will receive their respective item.

Santa Claus will be making a special appearance from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and attendees are encouraged to come prepared to take their own photos, Woody said.

Complimentary hot chocolate, coffee and apple cider will be available throughout the event, she added.

Richmond County Hospice has been unable to hold Dancing with the Stars, its largest annual fundraiser, for the past two years due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2019, Dancing with the Stars brought in nearly $60,000
