Richmond County Humane Society’s “Raise the Woof” Fundraiser Happening Saturday at Hudson Brothers’ Deli

Join the fun at Raise the Woof at Hudson Brothers' Deli Saturday from 6:30 to 11 p.m.

ROCKINGHAM – For locals wanting to help the community out, the Richmond County Humane society is inviting everyone to join them for a great cause at Hudson Brothers’ Deli, located at 115 S. Lee Street in Rockingham, Saturday night.

No, not just to “bark and howl at the moon,” but rather to join the rest of your pack and the Richmond County Humane Society for a dog-gone fun (yet productive) evening that will have cat lovers purring and doggy people wagging their tails.

In conjunction with National Canine Recognition Week and its “Raise the Woof” fundraising and awareness project, our local Humane Society will sponsor the Woofpack Saturday, September 30, from 6:30 to 11 p.m.

With the generous donation of time and effort by Hudson Brothers’ Deli management and staff, Humane Society personnel Jessie Covington and Brandy Alfredson have arranged for disc jockey supreme Robert Smith to be there to “let the dogs out” with karaoke orchestrations.

The event will offer a meal of grilled rib-eye steak (with all the fixins’) cook to specifications for only $12. Attendees also have a chance to win $1000 (or one of several other prizes) with a donation of $50 that goes entirely to supporting the Humane Society’s tireless efforts to find good homes for less fortunate friends of the canine and feline persuasion.

Don’t get sent to the dog house and/or let your weekend go to the dogs. Reach Covington at  (910) 461-4482 to place food raffle ticket orders.

“We all need to work together to help these animals who otherwise have no hope at all,” Covington said.
