ROCKINGHAM — A man is in the Richmond County Jail facing more than a dozen charges, accused of having sex with an underage child.
According to arrest warrants taken out by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Robisel Diaz-Saraoz, of Mill Road, engaged in intercourse with a child 15 years old or younger multiple times within a six-month period.
The alleged acts happened from Dec. 1-31, Jan. 1-31, March 1-30, April 1-30 and May 1-31, according to warrants.
Diaz-Saroaz was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 18 and charged with 15 counts of statutory rape of a child less than or equal to 15.
He was booked into the Richmond County Jail where he is being held under a $2 million secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 3.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
