Richmond County preps for next phase of COVID vaccine distribution

ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Health Department and FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Richmond Campus are working with individuals throughout Richmond County who qualify for the COVID Vaccine under Phase 1a of the COVID Vaccine Distribution Plan for North Carolina.

To date, approximately 400 Richmond County residents who qualify for the vaccine under Phase 1a have received the first dose of the vaccine.

As we continue our efforts to complete Phase 1a-eligible recipients interested in receiving the vaccine, plans for moving to group 1 of Phase 1b are being finalized so that Phase 1b can begin next Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 with Phase 1b Group 1.

Later this week, instructions for Richmond County residents age 75 and over who wish to receive the vaccine will be made available to register for the vaccine beginning Jan. 11, 2021.

Due to limited supply of vaccine at this time, vaccine will only be available to persons age 75 or older beginning Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 who schedule an appointment. Again, information regarding appointment scheduling will be released later this week.
