Richmond County Schools welcomes new administrators for upcoming year

HAMLET — Richmond County Schools is proud to announce the appointment of several new administrators who will be joining our team for the upcoming academic year.

These highly qualified individuals will be assuming roles at various schools and departments across the district, bringing with them a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence in education.

“We are excited to welcome these talented administrators to our team,” said Dr. Ferrell, superintendent of Richmond County Schools. “Their leadership, expertise, and passion for education will be invaluable as we continue to provide the highest quality education to our students.”

The following list of new administrators and their roles:

  • Scott Witherow, who joins us from Cumberland County Schools, will be principal at East Rockingham Elementary.
  • Rebecca Pierce, who joins us from Scotland County Schools, will be principal at Washington Street Elementary.
  • Kevin Mabe will be the dropout prevention coordinator.
  • Monica Robinson will be principal at Ashley Chapel Educational Center.
  • Joyce McRae will be principal at Ninth Grade Academy.
  • Dina Gunnells will be principal at Cordova Middle School.
  • Courtney Pearson will be principal at Hamlet Middle School.

We are confident that these administrators will help continue to drive our district forward and improve the educational experiences of our students.
