Richmond County Sheriff’s Office continues search for missing Hamlet woman

HAMLET — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office will be initiating a search Tuesday for a woman who hasn’t been seen in nearly three months.

The sheriff’s office, along with local search and rescue teams, will conduct a ground search starting at 9 a.m. around N.C. 38 in Hamlet for clues that could lead to the location of Betty Billingsley.

Billingsley, who lives alone on Ridgeview Drive, was reportedly last seen by neighbors near her home in late February and was reported missing by the Richmond County Department of Social Services on May 19.
