Richmond County Social Services adding WIC mini-clinic

ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County WIC Program is expanding its office.

A new mini-clinic will open on Monday, July 8 in the intake area of the Richmond County Department of Social Services.

The mini-clinic will focus on immediately serving categorically eligible clients who are present seeking social services. This clinic will also serve walk-ins as time permits.

The clinic was created to increase program participation and to meet the needs of clients with transportation and child care issues, scheduling conflicts and emergencies.

“There is a great need for WIC Program services in Richmond County and we want to provide those services as conveniently as possible”, said WIC Program Manager, Saquana Miller-Stevenson.

Most clients who come in to apply for WIC services will leave with benefits in-hand that day; while in rare instances, a client may have to schedule an appointment to return with documentation or a child.

The clinic will serve clients during regular clinic hours: Monday–Thursday from 8-11 a.m. and 1-5 p.m. and Friday from 8-11 a.m.

The contact telephone number for the mini-clinic will remain the same as the original number: 910-997-8313.
