ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County administered the seven-minute confidential Richmond County Broadband Survey last summer (July, August, September, 2021) to determine areas of poor internet service.

The survey results will improve our understanding of current access to broadband internet service, most importantly identifying areas with poor to no service available.

The study results will be a foundational and guiding document used to guide Internet Service Providers to underserved communities and to seek funding available from federal, state, and other funding sources.

The results of that survey are now available, and a presentation will be made by Lumber River COG and ECC Technologies on Dec. 13, 2021. The Richmond County Broadband Study Results Presentation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cole Auditorium in Hamlet and is open to the public.
