ROCKINGHAM — Congratulations are in order for Rockingham city manager Monty Crump who was recently appointed to the North Carolina Wildlife Commission by North Carolina governor Roy Cooper.
Crump will serve a six-year appointment for the sixth district of the commission. He has worked tirelessly over the years for recreational use of the Pee Dee River and was instrumental in opening the Digg’s Tract for camping. In addition, he also worked to open Hitchcock Creek and Hinson Lake for public use.
“Monty has always believed that nature is one of our major resources and he has always worked for public access to it,” said Rockingham city councilman John Hutchinson.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Crump as he continues his public contribution to the State of North Carolina and our own natural resources here in Richmond County.
