Rockingham Fire Department Announces September 11th Memorial Walk Meeting and Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirt Sale

ROCKINGHAM – As the 16th anniversary of the tragic September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks approaches, the Rockingham Fire Department will hold a memorial walk to honor the nearly 3,000 victims who perished on that Tuesday morning.

RFD’s Lieutenant Wayne Covington is asking that any available members interested in taking part in remembrance event to meet at the department’s location at 231 S. Lawrence Street Friday, September 1, 2017, for a brief meeting at 2 p.m.

If not all members from one’s department who will be participating cannot attend, RFD requests that there be at least one representative present.

RFD is also in the process of ordering new Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts, and would like to open it to all departments who would be interested. The shirts this year will be navy blue, and will have a breast cancer awareness design on the back with a RFD emblem on the front.

The cost is $15 per shirt, and all money is due to RFD no later than Friday, September 1, 2017, at 3 p.m. For more information please call Kristy at RFD at (910) 997-4002.
