ROCKINGHAM — One local retailer found a unique way to honor the fallen this Memorial Day.

Lowe’s Home Improvement placed peace lilies in a parking space reserved for Purple Heart recipients, between to handicapped spaces, as a makeshift memorial on Monday.

The space was also adorned with a wooden bucket of flowers and a U.S. flag.

A sign in the space reads:

“In Honor of Our Fallen

Military

Veterans

Lowe’s is reserving this parking

spot

Thank YOU for your SERVICE!”
