RICHMOND COUNTY – A Fall Music Festival featuring four popular area bands is on the schedule this Saturday evening, November 3rd, at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet on the RCC Campus, beginning at 6:30 PM. The bands include “The Loaded Dice Band,” “Son of a Chief,” “Jonathan Robinson,” and “The Ponder Project.”

Tickets are available prior to the concert for $10 from Cleve Baxley, and you can reach him at clevebaxley@gmail.com. Tickets will be $15 the day of the event at Cole Auditorium.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC.  The MHCO offers residential care services for children and families in several areas, such as residential group care for children and adolescents, counseling, referral services, child and family advocacy, and financial assistance for higher education.

Through the MHCO independent living program for young adults, ages 18-21, both males and females can receive support and guidance with transitioning to adult life. These services prepare the youth to be successfully employed, and to also continue their education.

The Loaded Dice Band will open up the evening’s  performances at 6:30 p.m  Having recently performed at the Uwharrie Festival in Mt. Gilead, band members include Eddie Brown on drums and vocals; Kristen Webb on piano, keyboard, and vocals; Gary Raines on bass guitar; and Nick Allen on lead and rhythm guitars and vocals. The band is from Rockingham, and their musical influences include Lynard Skynard, The Eagles, ZZ Top, Elvis, Jimmy Buffet, and Kenny Chesney.

Jonathan Robinson, a local guitarist and songwriter, will perform with his group. He recently released an EP titled “As Long As I’m Alive,” and has upcoming bookings at The Rooster’s Wife in Southern Pines, the Robbins Flood Benefit, and Charleston, SC.

The Ponder Project recently performed at the VFW Halloween Costume Party and the Southern Roadhouse Halloween Party. The group includes Kevin Butler on vocals; John Baker on guitar and vocals; Jason Singleton on bass; Shot Allen on drums; Bobby Pearce on keys; and Billie Adeimy on keys and vocals. This band performs quite often at Hudson Brothers’ Deli.

So come out to the Cole Auditorium on Saturday, November 3rd to hear some great music while contributing to the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC. This is a very worthy cause which will benefit the residential care and independent living programs for these needy young people.
