ROCKINGHAM – The Rockingham Police Department Criminal Investigation Division made two separate felony arrests on Monday, January 29.
While these arrests were not related to one another, they resulted from ongoing investigations that ultimately led to the efficient apprehension of the suspects.
Michael Bryan Medlin, 39, of Laurinburg, was arrested and charged with one count of obtaining property by false pretenses in the amount of $1849. Medlin is being held in the Richmond County Jail under a $5000 secured bond.
Clifton Andrew Steele, 57, of Rockingham was arrested and charged with three counts of larceny from a merchant by defeating an anti-theft device and one count of felony conspiracy. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $175. Steele is being held in the Richmond County Jail under a $2500 secured bond.
Steele’s charges are associated with multiple larcenies from Dunham’s Sports in Rockingham.
All people mentioned are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
