Rockingham Police Make Three Arrests

Rockingham – Three notable arrests were recently made by the Rockingham Police Department.

 

The first of these occurred on Friday, February 9th as the result of a search warrant subsequent to  preliminary ongoing drug-related investigations conducted by RPD narcotics officers. 

 

Tyler Jabril Dovante York was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for the manufacture, sell, or delivery of a controlled substance; and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

 

York was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a $2500 secured bond for the charges listed above.

 

Two other arrests were made in connection with an attempt to obtain property by false pretenses.  Two men entered the Walmart store at 720 East US Hwy 74 in Rockingham on Monday, February 19th and loaded items into a shopping cart.  The men then proceeded directly to the customer service counter and attempted to return these items for refunds without having purchased the items initially.

Rockingham Police Department officers arrested Damon Mason Giles of Laurinburg and charged him with attempt to obtain property by false pretenses and felony conspiracy.  He was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond.

 

The second suspect, Tyler Christopher Hoime of Southern Pines, was arrested the next day, Tuesday, February 20th and charged with obtaining propery by false pretenses, attempting to obtain property by false pretenses, and felony conspiracy.  Hoime was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $12,500.

 

It should be noted that the Southern Pines Police Department assisted in the arrest of Hoime.  

 

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
