ROCKINGHAM — A man wanted for a weekend homicide has turned himself in.
Investigators with the Rockingham Police Department say 22-year-old Marquis Tavon Quick, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, turned himself in just before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Police announced Thursday that they were looking for Quick in connection to the Jan. 16 murder of David Giovanni Boseman.
Boseman, 25, was killed Saturday, Jan. 16 around 4:30 p.m. while sitting in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu on Palisade Circle, police say. Samantha Sabrina Issac was also injured in the shooting.
Quick is charged with one count each of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a firearm into an occpied property.
Investigators say more charges could potentially be filed.
Quick will be held without bond until a hearing can be scheduled with a judge next week, according to police.
Quick is already facing several charges in Richmond County, including assault on a female and fleeing to elude arrest, along with driving while impaired and other traffic-related charges, according to online court records.
Quick has no prior convictions in North Carolina.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Police are still investigating another homicide on Cauthen Drive that occurred two days prior to the Palisade Circle incident.
