Sheriff’s Office Makes Three Arrests (Two at Morrison Correctional Institution) for Drug-Related Offenses

RICHMOND COUNTY – A suspected methamphetamine distributor was arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on August 16.  This arrest was precipitated by the Sheriff’s Office implementation of a controlled substance purchase operation on four separate occasions.  Each purchase was of a substance presumed to be methamphetamine.

Timothy Dwayne Player, 37, of Mill Road in East Rockingham was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance and four counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.   

Player was processed into the Richmond County Detention Center under a secured bond of $10,000. 

Cameron Morrison Correctional Institution was the scene of two drug-related arrests.   

Subsequent to a routine search of visitors conducted by CMCI correctional officers on Saturday, August 18th, Kierra Marie Van Eaton, 23, of Front Street, Eden, NC, and Mikki James Sidbury, 22, of September Drive, Durham, NC, were arrested by Richmond County Sheriff’s deputies.

Eaton and Sidbury were charged with possession of a controlled substance while on jail/prison premises.  

A second charge of possession of marijuana up to ½ oz was also filed against them as well.  

Eaton and Sidbury were transported to the Richmond County Detention Center and placed under a secured bond of $3,000 each.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
