Silver Alert issued for Robeson County man

RED SPRINGS — Another Silver Alert has been issued for a resident of the south central region of the state.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued an alert Thursday evening for 74-year-old George Lee Stephens of Red Springs.

Stephens, whose nickname is listed as “Chicken,” was last seen at Providence Place on Mount Tabor Road in Red Springs wearing brown and tan pajamas but no shoes. No date, time or direction of travel were listed.

He is six feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 170 pounds.

Stephens is is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, according to a press release.

Anyone with information on Stephens’ whereabouts is encouraged to call the Red Springs Police Dept at 910-843-3454.

A Silver Alert for 56-year-old Corrine Ruth Silva of Pinehurst was issued Thursday morning and has yet to be rescinded.

Silva was last seen on Wilshire Lane in Pinehurst.

She is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 144 pounds and has gray shoulder-length hair.
