RICHMOND COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA – For the 3rd year in a row, beer and chicken wing lovers will gather in Richmond Plaza Shopping Center for the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Hoptoberfest.

Hoptoberfest is a craft beer and chicken wing festival scheduled for Saturday, October 7th 2017. The event starts at 3:00 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and opens to general admission at 4:00 p.m. Along with NC craft beers, the festival also features NC wines, a wing contest sponsored by Perdue Farms, and live music from Black Water Rhythm & Blues Band.

Tickets sales are now in full swing with tickets being sold online, at the Chamber’s office in Hamlet, and at Tri City Inc.’s office in Rockingham. Tickets are $30 until September 1st and then increase to $35 after that. Sampling of beer, wine, and wings are included in the ticket price. Pints of beer and glasses of wine are available for additional purchase.

“Last year the event sold out three weeks in advance,” says Chamber President Emily Tucker. “People were calling the Chamber left and right looking for tickets. It was great to see the event become so popular.”

Tickets were sold locally, but the event also saw visitors from surrounding Counties, as well as further regions like Apex, Concord, and South Carolina.

“Hoptoberfest is truly the only craft beer and chicken wing festival in our area, which is why it draws so many out of towners to our area,” says Neil Robinette CEO of Tri City Inc. and chair of the Hoptoberfest committee. “We are excited to partner with the Chamber for a third year to host this event. It is very exciting to see Richmond Plaza full of people enjoying themselves.”
